Developer fees are charges levied on real estate developers by school districts to help fund the construction or renovation of school facilities that accommodate growing student populations. As new housing developments and commercial projects are built in a district, they increase the demand for local schools, requiring additional space and resources. Developer fees help offset the costs associated with expanding or improving school facilities to ensure that students have access to adequate classrooms, libraries, and other essential spaces, ensuring that all students have a safe and supportive learning environment.

As of the 2023 calendar year, the developer fees are as follows: 

Residential: $5.17
Commercial/Industrial: $0.84
