MTSS

Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is an integrated, evidence-based framework used to address the academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of all students. MTSS is designed to provide varying levels of support based on student needs, ensuring that every student receives the right interventions at the right time. The system is organized into three tiers:

  1. Tier 1 involves universal support for all students, such as high-quality classroom instruction and positive behavior reinforcement.

  2. Tier 2 provides targeted interventions for students who need additional help, often in small groups, to address specific academic or behavioral challenges.

  3. Tier 3 offers intensive, individualized support for students who require the most extensive interventions, often involving specialized services or more frequent progress monitoring.

MTSS emphasizes collaboration among educators, data-driven decision-making, and ongoing assessment to ensure that interventions are effective and responsive to the unique needs of each student. The goal is to create a supportive environment where all students can succeed academically and socially.
