About the Department

The Information Technology (IT) Department is responsible for managing and maintaining the technological infrastructure that supports both administrative and educational functions. This includes overseeing the school’s network, servers, and hardware systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and up-to-date. The IT department provides technical support to students, teachers, and staff, troubleshooting issues related to computers, software, and classroom technology tools. Key responsibilities of the Educational Services Department include:

Network and Infrastructure Management: Maintain and monitor school’s local area network (LAN), internet connectivity, and wireless systems. Ensure the security and reliability of school servers, hardware, and cloud services. Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal disruption to educational activities.

Hardware and Software Support: Manage the procurement, installation, and maintenance of computer hardware (e.g., desktops, laptops, tablets, printers). Support software deployment, updates, and troubleshooting across devices used by students, teachers, and staff. Provide technical support for classroom technology tools (smartboards, projectors, etc.).

Cybersecurity and Data Privacy: Implement cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive student and staff data from breaches and unauthorized access. Educate staff and students on best practices for data privacy, including password security and safe internet usage.

Technical Support and Help Desk: Provide day-to-day technical support to staff, students, and administrators for troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Operate a help desk system for tracking, prioritizing, and resolving technical issues efficiently. Offer training and guidance on using educational technology tools.

System Administration and Maintenance: Manage and update school management systems (student information systems, gradebooks, etc.) to ensure they are secure and operational. Perform regular backups, software updates, and system optimizations. Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure systems run smoothly.
